Tattva Trayam or triad of reality classifies our overall reality as a combination of the individual souls, insentient matter, and Supreme Being. It explains their basic traits so that one can distinctly identify them. In Ramanuja's philosophy, separate identification or experience of these three constituents leads us to liberation.
We cannot see our souls through our eyes as it is atomic in size; we cannot imagine its form with our mind because it is unlike everything we can ever think of. Just as the sun shines when clouds move away, it shines in a pure mind when our defects wither away. Our soul is a part of the Supreme Being, and its ultimate purpose is to serve him with devotion.
Supreme Being resides within all; however, it does not bind him with the body like an individual soul. He is unattached to his actions like the sky, which cannot get dirty by the dust. He is the cause of all causes. He controls our actions and gives different results according to our efforts. Those, who love him, remain aligned to him, and serve him receive his reciprocation. However, this does not make him unjust, just as a tree cannot give shadow to those who do not come near it.
