Federal, state, tribal, and local governments; health care systems, insurers, and clinicians; businesses; educational institutions; community-based organizations; and family members, friends, and others all have a role to play in suicide prevention" National Strategy for Suicide Prevention The word suicide, originated from the Latin word "sui" (of oneself) and "caedes" (killing). It was first introduced by the philosopher Sir Thomas Browne in the 17th century. According to Durkheim the term suicide can be applicable for all cases of death those evolve from a positive or negative act of a person who is cognizant of the sequel of the behavior directly or indirectly. The World Health Organization defined suicide as an act which is augmented and accomplish for bringing wanted changes, but end with a lethal outcome, which the dead, perceptive or anticipating an impending fatal conclusion.
