History tells us that in the early 20th century, the Japanese people underwent substantial change in their culture. These developments also had a huge influence on the legendary Japanese martial arts. The classical Bu-jutsu styles would transform into Budo: 'the way of the warrior'. The author, Edgar Kruyning was one of the last uchi deshi (living in student) of this legendary grandmaster. Nowadays he is a leading authority on what remains of Minoru Mochizuki's teachings today.
