The author is a South Korean, who lives in the United States. Her family and friends are still in Korea and she used to visit them every year or so. In 2020, she had a flight ticket to visit Korea as an annual visit. However, the pandemic stopped her plan. Nobody could promise her the next flight to Korea anytime soon.
After the trip got canceled, she decided to do something meaningful instead of being hopeless. She started to memorize bible verses and to paint again. One memorized bible verse became a total number of thirty-nine at the end. The author says that it was a hard time for her and her family, but she had the most blessing time in her life.As her waiting to go back home was continuously delayed, she decided to make a book for her father's salvation. She selected her favorite paintings that she enjoyed painting, and combine them with those thirty-nine bible verses she memorized.
As of today, it has been over three years since she saw her family in Korea. The author wishes this book could be used to comfort someone's broken heart, especially those who miss their loved ones far away.
