Changing the way our conventional healthcare system performs demands adjustments in medical education, research, and regulation. The current approach is one of "sick-care," which focuses on sickness, whereas we strongly believe that a shift to a patient-centered, whole-person "health-care" approach is required - let's focus on keeping people healthy rather than waiting for them to get ill. A primary contact practitioner's role should be that of a health coach, promoting attitudes and behaviours to maintain and optimise health and well-being through a coordinated, multi-disciplinary approach. The key to accomplishing this adjustment is information, not just the result of a diagnosis-label.
